A trustee since 2015, Charif Souki is a founder of Cheniere Energy, Inc., and serves as chairman of the board of directors, chief executive officer and president. Cheniere is the first mover in the development of U.S. LNG exports, with two large-scale liquefaction projects currently underway. Sabine Pass Liquefaction is under construction in Cameron Parish, LA., and will be the first large scale LNG export facility in North America. Cheniere is also advancing development on a second liquefaction facility on a site near Corpus Christi, TX. In addition, Cheniere plans to invest in two mid-scale LNG projects. When completed by 2025, Cheniere will be one of the largest exporters of LNG on a global basis and one of the largest natural gas buyers in the United States. Prior to Cheniere, Mr. Souki was an investment banker specializing in financing for small capitalization companies with an emphasis in the oil and gas industry. Mr. Souki received a BA from Colgate University and an MBA from Columbia.
