Were can we find water during Commencement?
Free water will be distributed to graduating students, faculty members, and guests.
Water can also be bought during the Commencement Ceremony from the Hostler cafeteria directly near the Green Field.
How to reach or contact the Call Center for any info?
For information on the Commencement Exercises before commencement date, you can call the events unit at the Office of Communications on 00961 1 350000 ext 2685, or send an e-mail to events@aub.edu.lb
On Commencement day, a Call Center will be placed at Hostler center directly near the Hostler gate to accommodate all questions and enquiries.
If students do not have their cap and gown, can they still participate in the Commencement?
Student without caps and gowns cannot participate in the commencement. To secure your cap and gown on time, please visit the following link:

Where can students lock their belongings during Commencement?
There are no rooms for the graduating students to store their belongings. It is better to come as light as possible.
On what basis is the seating arrangement organized?
The seating arrangements will be based on a first come first serve basis starting 6:00 pm.
Can parents leave the ceremony before it ends?
Parents who decide to attend the main commencement ceremony, are advised to stay till the end.
If professors do not confirm their attendance, can they still be seated on stage at the last minute?
Faculty members who do not confirm their attendance to be seated on stage before May 31, 2013, will not be granted a seat.
What do volunteers get as a reward for their help? Any recognition given?
Student and staff volunteers will be invited to the Marquand House after the commencement for a recognition reception, where volunteering certificates will be distributed.
Are children below 8 years old allowed to attend the Commencement?
Children below 8 years old will not be allowed to attend the commencement ceremony.
Will AUB parking be accessible to parents? Or only for VIP people and staff?
AUB parking is extremely limited, and will only be available to limited number of people listed below. Please arrange your plans ahead of time in order to arrive early and not to get stuck in traffic on Commencement Day.
- Staff, faculty, and volunteers working on commencement day (1 car per person)
- Special Guests and Dignitaries (1 car per guest)
- Guests for Honorary Degrees Recipients (1 car per guest)
- PHD and Masters Graduating Students (1 car per student)
Will there be Red Cross stations? and where?
A AUB Red Cross Station will be available near the green field ready for service.
Can parents enter campus earlier than advised?
Parents can enter AUB Campus starting 6:00 pm, an hour and a half before the Commencement ceremony.
Will there be signs to guide parents to the venues? Or ushers?
Ushers and signs at key areas on campus will be available to guide visitors.
If extra tickets are needed, whom to contact?
If extra tickets are needed, graduating students need to check with the Dean’s Office of their faculty for availability before Commencement Day.
No tickets will be available on Commencement Day.
If students lose or forget their cap and gown, do they get extra ones?
Students who lose or forget their caps and gowns need to contact the auxiliary services offices at AUB for their advice. Failing to show up with a cap and gown on commencement day will result in missing the commencement ceremony.

Where will be the restrooms located?
Restrooms for graduating student at main ceremony will be located at the Suliman S. Olayan School of Business building.
Restrooms for guests at the main ceremony on the Green Field will be location at Charles W. Hostler Student Center.
Additional restrooms will be installed near the Green Field to accomodate the crowd.
If students cannot make it to the rehearsals, will they still be able to take part in the Commencement?
Student who do not make it to the rehearsals without giving a valid excuse to the Commencement Coordinator Mr. Johnny El-Hage (jh26@aub.edu.lb), will not be granted a place at the commencement ceremony.
Can parents take photos of their children during the ceremony?
In the ceremony, it is absolutely forbidden to have photographs taken in the line-up area and during the ceremony.
Authorized photographers and videographers will cover the entire ceremony.
If graduates do not wish to attend the Commencement, from where do they get their diplomas?
Graduates who do not want to attend the commencement can get their diplomas from the Office of Registrar at College Hall Ground Floor.
From where can graduates get their photos and video after graduation?
Graduates can get their photos and videos from the authorized photographer and videographer covering the ceremonies:
Naji Photo Center, Hamra, Sadat Street, Khalled Abdallah Bld. Beirut Lebanon
How long does the Ceremony last?
The Honorary Doctorate and Graduate ceremony duration is estimated to be around two hours and a half, and the Undergraduate Ceremony is expected to last for three hours.
