The Faculty of Health Sciences at the American University of Beirut is organizing the “Syria Consultation meeting of the Lancet Commission on Syria (LCS)", which will be held at the Gefinor Rotana Hotel in Beirut on 11 - 12 September 2017.
The meeting aims to gather information and knowledge about the Syrian crisis from professionals working inside government-controlled areas. Around 30 members from various entities will be attending the meeting, including members from the LCS core team, all Beirut-based co-leads, members from the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as academics and health professionals from Syria.
The LCS was launched by the Faculty of Health Sciences at the American University of Beirut on December 2016. The Commission's goal is to produce the best possible science in relation to health and Syrian crisis and mobilize global action to strengthen the response to the crisis with a particular focus on health.
