Lebanon is witnessing a steady boom in the higher education sector, with more than 40 universities and specialized colleges listed on the website of the Ministry of Education for 2005-2006. Accreditation is an essential tool that distinguishes higher education programs for quality assurance and quality improvement.
Accreditation is a lengthy, multistage and on-going process that FAFS has initiated for its programs. The new undergraduate Coordinated Program in Nutrition and Dietetics has been introduced at the Nutrition and Food Sciences Department for accreditation with the American Dietetics Association (ADA). The program has been tailored in accordance with the requirements of ADA to achieve accreditation.
FAFS is committed to pursue accreditation status for all its programs to become a distinctive mark of quality recognized internationally, to offer professional development opportunities and to raise student’s performance.
