DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DEADLINE TO FINALIZE THE PROCEDURE. You may need to solve an emerging problem and resubmit required documents.  A delay in finalizing the loan may result in delaying your graduation.

Students who do not submit a clearance statement from the bank will not be cleared from AUB.

     BankMed Loan Procedures for Graduation:

Students graduating from AUB in Spring 2011 should start the final phase of the loan procedure with BankMed.

The bank clearance should be received by the Financial Aid Office not later than mid May 2011, in order to have your record cleared by AUB. The clearance will allow students to follow regular AUB graduation procedures and receive their degree during the commencement exercises.

If, however, a student is not cleared by the bank prior to the commencement he/she will not receive the degree on stage but instead an empty folder.  The student may later collect his/her degree from the Registrar’s Office after being cleared.

The final loan procedure involves the student and his/her guarantor with two options:

1- Settling fully the student loan

Or

2-  Sign for a student loan under the terms of the Central Bank of Lebanon with an interest rate of 3% for 10 years or less and which you can start repaying after a one year grace period.

Regular file fees and cost of stamps will apply when converting to a post-graduation loan. Documents will be also required, similar to the ones submitted during the first phase. You may opt to call BankMed- Movenpick branch to ask about the required documents at 01-799880, the contact person is Ms. Nina Zein, Ext: 30.
