Since its establishment in 1867, the Faculty of Medicine at the American University of Beirut (AUB) has trained generations of medical students and physicians; over 4,000 to date. The graduates of the Faculty of Medicine at AUB can be found at leading institutions around the world, transforming the medical field and improving patient care.

The AUB Medical Center (AUBMC) and the Faculty of Medicine are committed to continuous improvement and growth. We have outlined a new ambitious plan for the future - our AUBMC 2020 Vision which will take us to new levels of excellence through expansion, recruitment, focus on our patients and their changing needs, innovation, strategic partnerships, and a commitment to our academic and research mission.

As part of our commitment to our academic mission, many changes have already begun in our curriculum; the Academic Committee and Medical Education team are working diligently to ensure that our curriculum reflects the changing needs of medicine and health care delivery. For our graduate education programs, we are actively seeking international accreditations that will add to the strength of our programs. With our history comes tremendous responsibility to continue to provide the highest standards of excellence in patient-centered care, education, and research unseen before the Middle East.
