AUB Nature Conservation Center

Get Involved, Become an Intern
The job market is a competitive playing field with employers seeking individuals with remarkable skills and talents. Attaining outstanding grades during your studies will only get you so far when it comes to landing a desirable job. With on-the-job experience being a principle factor that employers desire when scoping out new recruits, recent graduates who lack experience have little to offer them.

From this perspective, career-seeking graduates, researchers, and even current students, can greatly benefit from interning within their corresponding fields. Internships are an excellent way for acquiring valuable work experience while improving networking and communications skills. They are an outstanding means of preparing young graduates into the job market while building up on social and human capital.

A leading nature conservation center for sustainable futures –  is proudly offering a series of internship programs for students, researchers, and recent graduates from all disciplines. Nature conservation encompasses all disciplines in numerous ways – from medicine to engineering, architecture to law – nature is the foundation that all disciplines are built upon. Nature should always be taken into consideration and not for granted.

Aside from our constant search for interns interested in working in a number of conservation-based activities, we are also currently looking for students or recent graduates who are experienced in:

  • Children’s storybook writing and/or illustration
  • Marketing and advertising
  • Fundraising and proposal writing
  • Computer graphics (animation) and graphic design
  • Popular science writing and research
  • Landscape design and urban planning
  • Art – painting, sculpture, photography, etc.

Our internship programs are flexible to fit the busy schedules of students and researchers, with numerous areas of interest to choose from. We aim to provide a platform for interns to gain work experience and learn new skills that they can use for their own research and career development.

What ex-interns have to say about their experience in the center:

Alison Kumro

"the center gave me the chance to interact with several members of the AUB community and see firsthand the support that the center has among AUB’s faculty, staff, and students. The programs have exposed me to local, social, and environmental issues and given me knowledge about Lebanon’s rich biodiversity that I wouldn’t have received otherwise. I will be sad to leave the wonderful, hard-working people here, but I look forward to keeping in touch and seeing how the center grows over the next year"

Tanya Dib

"In the five months that I have worked as an intern with the center, each day was as interactive and pleasant as the next. The center truly values the significance of teamwork and cooperation and I am very happy to have been able to share this wonderful spirit with each member in the office"

Zakaria Tagaizine

"My experience within the center has brought me a lot as a Freshmen student. First off, this was my first involvement in the professional field, which granted me a first opportunity to engage in taking responsibilities and committing to the tasks assigned to me. Also, I made myself familiar with how an office is managed trough meetings in which all the work would be organized and tasks administrated according to each one's skills. Finally, the mood is very nice in here, the people are very friendly and I have never felt any kind of pressure on me."
