Marine Biotechnology (Marex) is the result of joint research between The AUB Nature Conservation Center and a Finnish team. Aims towards collecting, isolating, and classifying marine organisms from the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans, as well as from the Mediterranean, Baltic, and Arabian seas, in order to study the potential therapeutic properties of marine sources, while preserving biodiversity.  The Marex project aims to identify more marine sources of biotechnology products while at the same time being consciously aware of the environment. Marex also targets raising public awareness about marine biodiversity.
