The Receiving Division is responsible for handling the custody of materials from the time it is received until it is delivered to its ultimate users in AUB, AUBMC, or AREC.
In general, all materials delivered to us, including parcel post shipments, bulk diesel fuel, agricultural supplies, foodstuff and beverages, refrigerated items, radioactive materials, household goods, and personal effect etc., are received at the central warehouse facility, inspected for both quantity and condition, then delivered to the requiring activity or to storage.
Bulk materials, heavy machinery, and items that require the use of special equipment for unloading, are re-directed to the location of use, either for installation or for storage.
A representative of the central warehouse facility accompanies the shipment to the place where it is to be unloaded, inspects it for quantity and condition, accepts the shipment on behalf of the University, and then obtains a receipt from the department or activity concerned.
