WAAAUB SECOND MENA REGIONAL MEETING
Young Alumni and Career Prospects: Building a better path to a brigther future                                       
Damascus (March 10th- 12th, 2011)

In an effort to harness the energy, imagination and initiative of today’s youth to help face modern-day issues around the world, the United Nations proclaimed 2010-2011 as the International Year of Youth. To mark this event and to engage young Alumni in addressing employment issues in the region, the MENA Regional Meeting will host a weekend of discussions with fellow alumni that will focus on ways to bring current events to bear on increased employment and entrepreneurship opportunities for young AUB graduates.

 MENA Regional Meeting Objectives

 The objectives of the meeting are the following:

  • To assess young alumni (classes 2005-2011) needs as related to employment and job opportunities 
  • To identify the role that WAAAUB Chapters can play in supporting young alumni facing employment issues
  • To bring young AUB alumni, Chapters and WAAAUB  leadership together with leaders in entrepreneurship and business to open channels of dialogues amongst them
  • To introduce the AUB alumni network to the best leaders in entrepreneurship and business in the MENA region
  • To develop and agree on an WAAAUB  strategy that aims at enhancing employment and business opportunities for young alumni

 The weekend will also include a Gala Dinner, visits to local tourist sites at the most interesting places on old Damascus.
