Volunteer with the Lebanese Child Home Association

 

The Center for Civic Engagement and Community Service (CCECS) is seeking volunteers for the Lebanese Child Home Association. Interested volunteers are requested to send an email to ccecs@aub.edu.lb.

Volunteers are needed to help with:
- Daily support in after-school classes in both the Lebanese Child Home Association boarding and day center
- Animation and activities organization in the Lebanese Child Home Associations different centers for children aged between six and 15 years
- Summer camps in July and/or August for 21 days (in Jouar el Bouachek in the Jouar El Bouachek - Achkout)

Work includes: support in homework, organizing activities that help children express their feelings in some way (drama, fine arts, dance, music...), and monitoring a group of children in summer camps.

Location of the Lebanese Child Home Association centers and opening hours:
- School for children with learning difficulties from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm, in Bourj Hammoud
- Day center in Sin el fil for the prevention of delinquency, from 3:00 - 6:00 pm in Sin El fil

 


Description of activities:
- In the summer camps, children pass 21 days in the mountains or in a day camp where they benefit from many recreational and educational activities.
- In the day center, children are received every day (Monday to Friday) after school to do their homework under the supervision of monitors and benefit from a hot meal and awareness activities.
- In the boarding center, child victims of abuse are received all week even during the week-ends. After school, we help them to do their homework and we offer psychosocial support through individual follow up and educational activities to help them express their fears and suffering.

The Lebanese Child Home Association is an NGO that supports:
- Children victims of violence, at risk of delinquency and/or with learning difficulties;
- their families that suffers from multiple social problems;
- the environment that contains many risks for the development of the child.
