Bassel El Baba in concert

 

Bassel El Baba plays Liszt B Minor Sonata and Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 4 in G Major on July 6, 2012, at 7:30 pm, in Assembly Hall. All are welcome.

About Bassel El Baba

Born in Beirut on June 18, 1982, Bassel El Baba started playing the piano at the age of three; at the age of five he started piano lessons with Sona Aharonian. Since 1991 he has been pursuing his piano education with the renowned teacher and pedagogue Professor Zvart Sarkissian, a pupil of Marguerite Long and Jacques Fevrier and a graduate from the world famous Marguerite Long Jacques Fevrier school of music in Paris, and herself a teacher of many pianists such as Abdel Rahman El Bacha, Walid Howrani, and others.
El Baba has been performing for more than sixteen years on a regular basis in concerts and recitals in Lebanon. His repertoire ranges from Bach to Glass, his main interest however is the European romantic school: especially Liszt, Schumann, and Chopin.

 


El Baba appeared publicly in several performances including piano concertos by Schumann and Saint Saens; solo programmes such Annees de Pelerinage and Etudes d'execution transcendante by Liszt; and woks by other composers such as Mozart, Beethoven Schumann, and Scriabin.
El Baba graduated as a medical doctor from Balamand University in 2007. He currently lives in Leipzig, Germany, and is specializing as a physician in Ear, Nose, and Throat. He pursues his musical career in Leipzig and continuously participates in pianistic activities.
