Message from the President

Dear Friends,

You have all performed remarkably in support of the University, and many of you are reaching out to the innocent victims of this terrible conflict. I am proud of you all, and I pray we come through this crisis in a position to resume our educational mission as before.

There has been a restructuring of the senior leadership of the University, brought about by the temporary departure of Provost Peter Heath. Dean Huda Zurayk will be Acting Provost in Dr. Heath's absence. VP George Tomey will replace Provost Heath as Acting President and will have full authority for university affairs in close consultation with me and Chairman Thomas Morris. Dean and VP Nadim Cortas will direct the affairs of the AUBMC which faces critical challenges in these trying circumstances.

As you go forward in these difficult days and weeks, remember the 140 years of this institution's history. AUB has known many hard times including several episodes of famine and civil strife. We have always survived and come back stronger. This time will be no exception.
