Message from the Provost to Facutly and Students

Dear Faculty and Students,

The summer session is proceeding very well, with excellent attendance by faculty and students. It is wonderful to see students on campus again. AUB is also fully prepared to begin the fall semester. Pre-registration for new students is from September 3 to September 18. Orientation and academic advising for new students begins September 13, 2006, so all faculty members who are not yet on campus should make the necessary arrangements to return. Travel from outside of Lebanon is smooth at this point, with air flights arriving from Amman without problems. Land travel is also proceeding through Syria. Currently the number of flights to Beirut is somewhat limited, so all who plan to arrive by air should make early travel arrangements. There have been no reports of complications in travel from those who have recently arrived, but the university would like to hear of any such issues so that we can work to ease problems.
