An-Nahar, The Daily Star, and Al-Anwar of November 1 reported on the panel discussion held at AUB and organized by AUB Center for American Studies and Research entitled "Real Change? A Forum on the US Elections." The papers said that the speakers at the panel discussion, economics Professor Marcus Marktanner, anthropology Professor Patrick McGreevy, who is the director of the Center for American Studies and Research, and international relations Professor Karim Makdisi, agreed that there was little political difference between both candidates.
An-Nahar of November 1 reported on the end of the round table discussion entitled Marsad Nawwara organized by AUB to launch the National Women Station for Farming and Rural Areas.
Al-Mustaqbal, Al-Akhbar, The Daily Star, and Al-Anwar of November 1 reported on the two-day wellness fair held at AUB and organized by the Committee on University Wellness. The paper said that the fair took place at AUB on October 30-31 and featured the multi-dimensional qualities of healthy living.
Al-Mustaqbal of November 1 and Ad-Diyar of November 2 reported on the classical Indian musical performance that took place at Assembly Hall. The papers said that the concert was organized by the Indian Embassy in Beirut, the Indian Cultural Council in New Delhi, and AUB's Office of Information and Public Relations.
Al-Akhbar of November 1 announced that the Secularism Club is a new student club launched at AUB this year.
L'Orient-Le Jour of November 1 reported that the president of the Lebanese Press Syndicate Mohammed Baalbaki received Rami Ollaik who gave him a copy of his recently published book The Bees Road which recounts his journey from being a Hizbullah activist to a peace advocate. The paper said that the book includes a section that tells Ollaik's story as a student at AUB.
L'Orient-Le Jour of November 1, 4 and 5 carried the announcement by the Society of the Friends of the AUB Museum that it is organizing a field trip for children to the Lebanese coastal city of Byblos.
An-Nahar, Al-Liwa', Ad-Diyar, Al-Bayraq, Ash-Sharq, Al-Anwar and Al-Mustaqbal of November 2 reported that the Makassed Hospital held a graduation ceremony for its medical interns under the auspices of minister of culture Tammam Salam who lauded the collaboration of the hospital with several medical centers in the country including AUBMC.
Al-Akhbar of November 2 reported on the festivities on the occasion of Halloween held on Bliss Street by a group of university students including AUB.
Al-Anwar and Ash-Sharq of November 4 reported that a delegation from the Lebanese Economic Forum headed by Rafic Zantout visited Beirut MP Saad Hariri and thanked him for the donations he has been granting for various development projects such as the one he gave to the American University of Beirut.

The paper said that members of the board of trustees of the center headed by Salim Zeinni and Randa Berri, wife of Speaker of the House Nabih Berri, attended the dinner.
Al-Liwa' of November 4 reported on the ceremony held on October 24 at AUB's West Hall in honor of 11 current Lebanese ministers who are AUB alumni. The paper said among those given the honorary awards was Lebanon's PM Fouad Siniora, and that the ceremony was organized by the Worldwide Alumni Association of the American University of Beirut (WAAAUB).

The paper said that the lecture was inspired by her soon-to-be-issued book The Secret Life of Syrian Lingerie. The paper also said that the lecture was organized by the AUB Department of Architecture and Design.
An-Nahar of November 5 reported that the USAID through the US Embassy in Lebanon donated $100,000 to the American Community School. The paper said that AUB is among the institutions that benefit from the USAID funds.
Al-Liwa' of November 5 carried the announcement by the Beirut Municipality that AUB and the Riviera Yacht Club will not be allowed to put up tents to cover the views to their beaches on the Corniche next summer.
As-Safir of November 5 published an article on Lebanese youth moving out of their parents' houses as soon as they join college. The paper included an interview with AUB student Jana Dhaher who thought that the experience of independence is essential for young men and women.
The Daily Star of November 5 published a political editorial on the UN mandated Blue Line in Southern Lebanon and included quotations by Timor Goksel and Chafiq el-Masri who teach political studies at AUB.

The papers said that MP Aoun discussed with them the forthcoming student elections and other student concerns.

The papers said that Rami Khuri, director of the Issam Fares Institute, participated in the inaugural session of the workshop and that the workshop gathered political academic and civil society experts in a panel discussion to debate challenges and opportunities facing political development, including the roles of state, media, and civil society and the economy in enhancing state stability and economy.

The paper said that Miliband was invited by the Center for Arab and Middle Eastern Studies and that the debate was held in West Hall's Bathish Hall and attracted a large audience of AUB students and faculty, as well as British Ambassador Frances Guy.
Al-Liwa' of November 20 reported on an investigation by the Lebanese police at the American University of Beirut Medical Center following its use of a corpse delivered at the hospital for teaching of an anatomy course to medical students.
L'Orient Le Jour of November 20 announced that the National Network of Prenatal and Neonatal Medicine is holding a two-day conference on November 21-22 at the Movenpick Hotel, Beirut. The paper said that the National Network of Prenatal and Neonatal Medicine works in close collaboration with AUBMC's department of pediatrics.
L'Orient Le Jour of November 20 announced that a human rights conference will be held at AUB's Issam Fares Hall. The paper said that the conference was organized by the Lebanese national council for UNESCO.
The Daily Star of November 20 published a political editorial assessing the current Lebanese political situation. The paper said that Lebanese leaders have turned their attention to the national elections of May 2009. The paper quoted AUB professor of political studies Hilal Khashan as saying that the elections might do little in breaking the domestic political deadlock.

An-Nahar, Al-Mustaqbal, Al-Liwa', As-Safir, Ad-Diyar, Al-Bayraq, Al-Balad, Al-Akhbar, L'Orient Le Jour, The Daily Star, 14 March, and tayyar.org of November 27 reported on the Student Representative Council (SRC) elections held in AUB on November 26. The papers said that some 377 students ran for seats on the SRC, which was expanded from 95 to 109 this year.
Al-Mustaqbal of November 27 reported that Fujistsu Siemens Computers will provide technical facilities to AUB students in the computer lab at the AUB Faculty of Engineering and Architecture.
