International travel to Lebanon is through the Rafik Hariri International Airport.  Most airlines have offices in Lebanon and have flights to Lebanon.  Taxis are availble at the main entrance of the airport.  Ras Beirut- Hamra area, where the American University of Beirut Campus lays and the hotels suggested are located, is 10 to 15 min drive from the airport depending on traffic.  The area around the campus and the hotels is highly active and is full of restaurants, supermarkets, cafes, and shopping areas.

All hotels listed on this page are located in Hamra area within walking distance from the campus of the American University of Beirut. Arrangements have been made for special rates for Conference participants; however, participants are requested to make their own reservations directly with the hotels using the booking details provided.

TRANSPORTATION

Transportation from Rafik Hariri International Airport to Hamra, the neighborhood in which AUB is located, is relatively easy.  Taxis are available at the main entrance of the Airport for $35.00 a ride.  Also some of the suggested hotels may have pickup services from and to the airport for a fee.
