Seminar on Developing a Teaching Portfolio
Purpose:
The objective of the seminar is to introduce faculty members and evaluators to the merit and the know-how of preparing a teaching portfolio for improving, shaping and assessing their teaching. The seminar focuses on helping faculty members develop their own teaching portfolios. As such, the seminar will introduce the required components of a teaching portfolio; provide sources of information and data for inclusion in a portfolio ; and d escribe a framework for assessing and documenting the scholarship of teaching.

Seminar Design:
- Introductory session
- Working groups and discussions on compiling a teaching portfolio
- Completion of own individual teaching portfolio
- Possibly , inviting Seminar participants who started their own portfolios, to reflect on the process during Seminar. If that is not feasible, faculty may send samples of their portfolios for discussion purposes in the Seminar.
