Learning Outcomes Assessment at Course and Program Levels

Schedule

Evaluation

The most INTERESTING idea was

  • Learning assessment/Course assessment

  • Team work for designing program objectives

  • Learning outcome assessment

  • Developing detailed learning outcomes

  • The correction matrix

  • I found all interesting

  • Learning outcomes can be correlated to ICE & that ICE format / content

  • That once a course learning outcome is undertaken it is one step further to assess learning outcome for programme

  • The importance of assessing student results in some departments at AUB through the course outcomes

  • Establishing program goal and objectives

  • Suggestion to meet with each department to train all department member on establishing and assessing learning outcomes

  • Process of assessing goals / objectives

  • It was all interesting

Which ACTIVITIES will be the most useful in developing a teaching portfolio

  • Sharing experiments with other faculty

  • How to design a course objective and how to test that the outcomes of the course met the objectives

  • Presentations Discussion Exercise

  • Developing assessment tools for learning outcomes

  • Assessing the learning outcomes of one's courses

  • Learning outcomes and the new upgraded & approved expression of them makes the teaching portfolio more streamlined

  • Cannot understand question

  • Writing learning outcomes and relating them to student performance after graduation

  • Future planning of my courses

  • Course File

  • Course outcomes assessment

How could today's session be improved

  • It was an excellent experience for me

  •  By going into more details of how to access the learning outcome

  • Schedule the sessions early in the week, rather than end of the week

  • Condense the PPT presentation even more, to highlight key points only

  • Less concentration on ICE

  • The best part on "creating" learning outcomes can be shared for optimal results

  • Provide clear definition of each of the key word concept discussed (e.g. objectives, outcome).
Elaborate / define assessment tools / types with suitability of each (potentials + limitations)

  • By relating it more to the participants' majors.

  • Provide road map for assessment in specific areas

  • By stressing more the tools for assessment. To devise working sheets on exercises to help participants create their learning outcomes

  •  Less concentration on ICE, more practical hands on

Other comments

  • Address if a department experience can be applied on other departments taking into consideration number of students, teaching load, number of faculty, etc.

  • Excellent presentations

  • Very interesting and beneficial workshop

  • Excellent session, do not allow participants to sidetrack

  • Excellent workshop. Thank you all

  • Helpful if followed-up

  • Simple manual of learning outcome assessment step-by-step

  • Thank you

  • There should be sessions for humanities and others for the Sciences. Special sessions for particular department

  • Excellent
    More faculty need attending this

  • Very useful as a whole. I will most certainly go home and check how my outcomes are being assessed in different ways.
