Academic Advising
The seminar focuses on the importance of academic advising. The role of the administration, advisor and advisee will be discussed. Issues and problems in academic advising will be addressed. This seminar will yield recommendations on how to improve the academic advising process.
Dear Colleagues, Academic advising is one of the significant functions at AUB whereby students and their advisors work collaboratively in an environment of trust and confidence. Academic advisors can play a major role in their students' lives by helping them select academic programs that cater to their career goals and interests. Through proper academic advising, students acquire the skills of setting their professional goals and integrating in the AUB community. In addition, they acquire the knowledge of the University policies and procedures and the expected standards of achievement.
Since academic advising can become an integral part in the student's and advisor's experiences at AUB, and in an attempt to make the advising process effective and pleasant to all involved, a Seminar on Academic Advising is scheduled on Friday, January 14, 2004, from 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm, in College Hall, B1. Deans, Department Chairs, the University Registrar, and academic advisors are strongly urged to participate in the Seminar. The number of participants will be restricted to 25.
