Seminar On Developing a Teaching Portfolio

1. The activities that are most useful:

* Discussions.
* Participating on how to prepare parts of the teaching portfolio.
* Class Discussions.
* Sharing "stories from the trenches" Sharing by experience.
* Sharing viewpoints with faculty from other disciplines. Viewing Portfolio Samples.
* Almost all activities were useful, especially the part on "How are portfolios evaluated?".
* All.

2. The new ideas I got from the Seminars are:

* Real Portfolio.
* All the details on how to prepare the portfolio.
* Need to document the improvements in my teaching strategies.
* Format the size (relative) of the teaching portfolio.
* Guidelines for evaluating portfolios. Including justification for ICE evaluation or other assessment
   tools.
* The teaching portfolio provides me a chance to comment on ICE results which ameliorates
   some of the questionable and problematic aspect of ICE.

3. Suggestions to improve today's Seminar:

* Give more time to answer the questions (yours). Split it into two sessions to have more time for
  discussions.
* Maybe it needs to be longer so that the material is covered more thoroughly
* Reduce the volume of material.
* The first part could have been done quicker. No need to give participants time to write their own.
* Minimize discussion during facilitator presentation - Keep it till end of session.
* Timing was problematic for me, since on Fridays at 3:30 I have my class.
* Send one example of a teaching portfolio to participants in advance. Later this TP can be referred
   to in discussion during the workshop.

4. Other Comments:

* Invite new faculties (I insist on this). Should be done early in the promotion cycle. Give it more time
  many sessions
* Great added value. Thanks.
* Good job! Thank you.
* A very helpful and informative session; more time is needed.
* I greatly appreciate your sincere efforts in transmitting your experience to us.
* I was a very useful presentation. Extremely helpful.
