  1. The new ideas I got from the Seminar are:

Observation verses evaluation

Very informal sharing exercises

Maybe several sharing exercises of a different order

Story telling and sharing with a colleague.

The " I wonder" exercise

Reflect on my own teaching through storytelling

Self video to watch our teaching

Observation rather than evaluation

The protocols

Ideas regarding possible protocols for peer observation

How complicated teaching assessment could be.  And how very necessary

Fears and difficulties of peer observation

It highlighted some important issues in relation to peer evaluation

How can I benefit from peer evaluation

Peer observation for self development

Evaluation very different from development

Having the instructor define objectives for the observation

3. Suggestions to improve todays Seminar

Timing in the afternoon

Perhaps other pre-seminar ways of engaging people.

Informal exercise before hand.

Having faculty evaluate their own class themselves in a short writing piece

Case studies of successful peer observation in other universities

Can be shortened

To have a follow up seminar and go into more details of peer evaluation

Explain more about the process of doing peer evaluation

Next seminar should get into issues of process- who doe it, when and how
