You have the right to ask for the reconsideration of the financial aid award by filling and submitting a Petition for Reconsideration form to the Financial Aid Office (FAO). The deadline to submit a petition is the end of October for the Fall semester and the end of March for the Spring semester.
Petition Forms are available on this page or can be picked up from the FAO. Supporting documentation must be provided with the petition. FAO will provide a receipt confirming the date of submission of the petition. You are advised to keep the receipt for any further follow-up on your petition. The Financial Aid Committee will revise your financial aid based on new information. Decisions are subject to availability of funds.

Financial Aid Oversight Appeal
A second appeal may be submitted to the Financial Aid Oversight Committee (FAOC) only after a Petition for Reconsideration was submitted to the FAO. You may submit the appeal if you believe there had been a procedural irregularity in the consideration of your financial aid application or if you have new information or new circumstances that may warrant a reconsideration of your financial aid award. The appeal should be submitted within two weeks after receiving the response to the Petition for Reconsideration.
The second appeal should be submitted online and it goes directly to the FAOC.
You must clearly state relevant information in this application form and provide supporting documents if required. Such documents must be scanned and sent by email to faoc@aub.edu.lb.
You should also provide the date of submission of the Petition for Reconsideration and the Petition Receipt Number otherwise you will not be able to submit the appeal form. You can find the Petition Receipt Number on the receipt that was given to you by FAO when you submitted the Petition for Reconsideration. You mus also provide a copy of the Petition Receipt.
The FAOC may ask for further documentation and/or may ask for further interviews.
