Students who Already have Loans from BML and Byblos Bank

The loan for the academic year 2010-2011 is optional. You can choose to accept or decline the loan for the academic year 2010-2011 without affecting your financial aid grant. If you choose to receive the loan, the new amount will be added to your previous outstanding amount, and the procedures would be very similar to previous years, even simpler.

If you do not wish to take this year's loan you do not have to settle immediately the previous loan(s) received, but you still have to go to the bank and follow required procedures to ensure the continuing validity of your previous loans until graduation.

If you are a Previous Medical or Nursing Student Borrowing from BML:

This year, you should only go to the branch to pick up the application which could be given to the guarantor for signature and returned to the bank. This will relieve the guarantor from the visit to the bank provided you have the same guarantor.

Please note that if you do not wish to take this year’s loan you do not have to settle immediately the previous loans received, but you still need to proceed as per above. These loans will remain outstanding until you are asked to start phase 2 upon graduation.  Meanwhile AUB will continue to pay the 3% interest rate on your behalf for any outstanding loan amount until your graduation.

If you are a Previous Engineering and Architecture Student Borrowing from Byblos Bank:

This year, you should call Mr. Khaled Chatila at Byblos Bank – Bliss Branch – between the 29th of Nov and 4th of Dec to schedule an appointment on the following numbers:

01-369238     ext: 171

01-369240     ext: 171

01-369259     ext: 171

01-369251     ext: 171

You may as well go to the bank to schedule an appointment.

On the appointment day, you should bring with you to the bank a recent salary certificate or a statement of account for the last six months or last 3 pay slips for your guarantor to prove that he or she is still working in the same company; however if your guarantor changed his/her job or if you have a new guarantor, then you should do the following:

1- Fill a new Loan application

2- Bring a recent authenticated salary certificate or a salary certificate + a statement of account for the last six months (you can bring the last 6 pay slips instead of the statement of account)
