Research Interests
The Biology Department has active research programs in marine biology and ecology, aquatic physiology, cell differentiation and transformation, nucleic acid structure and function, molecular biology of cancer, natural products and cancer, microbiology, neuroscience, neuroimmunology, membrane biology and plant biochemistry, animal physiology, signal transduction and transport, biodiversity and insect-plant interactions, plant anatomy and environmental biology and herpetology.
In spite of this diversity of topics, most of the research work in the department converges on cell biology and closely related topics.
