Summer Arabic Program

Fees

The tuition fee for Modern Standard Arabic is obligatory and covers classroom instruction, wireless internet access and all field trips. Optional fees include health insurance, accommodation and use of sports facilities. All students attending the program must have health insurance coverage. Students who have an insurance plan that covers them in Lebanon should provide proof of this and sign a health insurance waiver, available at CAMES. Students who are not enrolled in a health insurance plan that covers them in Lebanon are obliged to pay the AUB health insurance fee. Students may choose to live in the student dorms on campus, or look for their own accommodation off campus. The sports facilities fee is also optional.

The total fees for the program in summer 2009 ranged between $4,327 and $4,586, depending on whether the student chose private, semi-private or shared accommodation. The breakdown of fees for summer 2009 was as follows:

Tuition for Modern Standard Arabic (obligatory): $3,732
Accommodation on AUB campus: $682 (private) / $517 (semi-private) / $423 (shared)
Health Insurance: $130
Sports Facilities Usage: $42

The fees for the 2010 program will be posted online soon. Please note that the fees will probably increase.
