CAMES Library
The Center for Arab and Middle Eastern Studies has a small library of books on the modern Middle East, most of which were donated by Professor Tarif Khalidi. To view the titles available, please check here. Also available are the theses of CAMES graduates from 1967 until the present. The theses of CAMES gradautes prior to 1967 are available at Jafet library.

The University Libraries (at Jafet) hold over half a million printed volumes, many of which relate to the history of the Arabs and the modern Middle East. Jafet Library owns over 1400 manuscripts, overwhelmingly concerned with matters pertaining to Islam and other aspects of Middle Eastern life and history. The periodical subscriptions include seventy titles that deal exclusively with the Middle East. Journals dealing with the region are also found in the over one hundred databases the Library subscribes to. In addition to the over 200 Arabic journal titles, the University Libraries have one of the largest and most complete collections of Arabic newspapers covering the colonial period of the 19 th and 20 th centuries. The reference collection includes online resources such as the Encyclopedia of Islam, the School of Oriental and African Studies database (MECAS ), Index Islamicus and Historical Abstracts .

Users are advised to consult with and to contact the librarians in the Reference Department for all their research needs, and by posting all queries on Ask a Librarian.

The Information Services Department conducts research sessions or Theses Clinics by appointment for literature reviews and citation management for all graduates and for classes.
