Applicants with backgrounds from most fields of study are eligible to apply for admission into the CAMES MA program, usually provided they have had some exposure to Middle Eastern Studies, as well as some training in the social sciences and/or humanities. A complete application includes the following:
Two academic letters of recommendation speaking to your ability to pursue the program
*Students who graduated from AUB or from universities in the USA, the UK, Australia or Canada are exempted from theTOEFL.
Please check the Office of Admissions website for detailed information on the requirements for applying to graduate programs at AUB and the application deadlines for each semester.
You may apply online here.
Funding will be provided for up to five new students every year at the level of 3 credits per semester each for a total of 4 semesters. Students will be expected to work seven hours a week at CAMES or at other related departments.
Students should have a GPA of at least 80 or 3.0, good recommendations, some exposure to Middle Eastern Studies, and some training in the social sciences and/or humanities to be considered for admission into the CAMES MA program. Since spaces in the program are limited, the admissions process to CAMES is quite competitive and a GPA of 3.0 does not guarantee admission. We will generally select students, in part, based on the match of their interests to the resources at CAMES and elsewhere at AUB.
Further information can be found in the AUB Graduate Catalogue. For more details on how to apply, please contact the Office of Admissions
