Recommendation Forms:

Application Deadline
Applicants should make sure the completed application form and accompanying documents reach the CAMES office in Beirut no later than March 15, 2012. Applicants may submit the application form by email. Letters of recommendation may be sent by email, but directly from the recommenders to CAMES. If they are sent in the mail or by courier, they must be in sealed envelopes. Official transcripts must remain in their sealed envelopes and be sent by mail or courier. Unofficial transcripts may be submitted by email to meet the deadline, but admission to the program is conditional on our receiving official transcripts. Students who wish to send their application materials by airmail, courier or through AUB’s New York office should allow at least two weeks for the package to reach the CAMES office in Beirut. Applications received after the deadline will be reviewed and placed on the waiting list (if the applicant qualifies for acceptance).

Fees
A non-refundable $500 deposit is due upon acceptance and will be deducted from the fees. The remainder of the fees are due by May 15, 2012. The tuition fees for summer 2012 are as follows:

Tuition for Modern Standard Arabic (obligatory): $4,212

Additional fees for optional services include health insurance, use of sports facilities and accommodation:

Health Insurance: $143
Sports Facilities: $50

Accommodation (on AUB campus):

$705 (private; single-occupancy room sharing the floor bathroom)
$533 (semi-private; two double-occupancy rooms sharing a bathroom; women only)
$439 (double; double-occupancy room sharing the floor bathroom)

Accommodation (off AUB campus; for women only):

$627 (double room with its own bathroom and balcony; sharing the floor kitchen)
$1,097 (single room with its own bathroom and balcony; sharing the floor kitchen)
$1,175 (suite for two persons consisting of a bedroom, a living room, a bathroom, two balconies and a mini-kitchenette with a counter separating the sink and the living room.)
$2,350 (suite for one person consisting of a bedroom, a living room, a bathroom, two balconies and a mini-kitchenette with a counter separating the sink and the living room.)

Students may pay by check, cash, or bank transfer. Credit card payments are not accepted. Those who wish to pay in the USA should mail a check to the AUB New York office, quoting "American University of Beirut/ CAMES ". Students who wish to pay in Lebanon may do so at the Cashier's Office in College Hall, AUB. Students who wish to pay by bank transfer may email CAMES for details on how to do so.
