Welcome to American University of Beirut's Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud Center for American Studies and Research. CASAR is dedicated to increasing international understanding primarily by increasing knowledge of the United States in the Middle East. CASAR pursues this goal through interdisciplinary teaching and research in American Studies -- focusing on a broad range of issues including the historical, cultural, and political  issues -- and through outreach efforts such as conferences and public lectures.
