INSTRUCTIONS TO ACCESS

FEA Multi-Core Machines 

Through

Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP)

   1. 4-CORE MACHINE

  -From a Windows platform:

  Click on start " Run                 (On Windows Vista, just click on start only)

 

Type: mstsc  

A box will appear, type: 193.188.131.15

Click on Connect:

You will be asked for your username and password.

Be sure to enter your username preceded by WIN2K\ as follows: WIN2K\jmh07.

 

Once you are logged on, your desktop will change and it will display the desktop of the quad-core machine. Everything you do is executed there.

 

To log off, just click on Start " Log off, and you will return to your local desktop.

 -From a UNIX platform:

 Open a terminal.

Type: rdesktop 193.188.131.15

You will be asked for your username and password.

Be sure to enter your username preceded by WIN2K\ as follows: WIN2K\jmh07.

Once you are logged on, a window will appear displaying the desktop of the quad-core machine. Everything you do in this window is executed there.

 

To log off, just click on Start " Log off, and you will return to your local desktop.

  2. 8-CORE MACHINE

 -From a Windows platform:

Do the same as instructed above but use the following id: 193.188.131.15

In this case, your desktop will change and it will display the desktop of the 8-core machine.

  -From a UNIX platform: 

Do the same as instructed above but use the following id: 193.188.131.15

In this case, a window will appear displaying the desktop of the 8-core machine.
