Department Committees

Curriculum Committee

The main task of the curriculum committee is to review the undergraduate and graduate curriculum on continuous basis, and consequently suggest updates on the curriculum that include, among others, new programs, new minors, course additions, and course updates. Membership


Assessment Committee

The job of the assessment committee is divided into two parts: The first part is to ensure ensure that every offered course has a portfolio that includes the course lectures, assignments, projects, exams, sample students exams, and a brief statement that assesses the offered course and suggests changes; and the second part is to prepare a yearly report analyzing the portfolios of every courses and ensuring that the learning outcomes of every course map well to the program learning outcomes. As an outcome of this analysis, better learning outcome alignment will be suggested. Membership


Strategic Planning Committee

The main task of the Strategic Planning Committee is to prepare a 5-years and 10-years strategic plan for the department. The plan specifies the steps needed to meet the departmentĀ¹s vision. Membership


Outreach Committee

The outreach committee plans and executes all activities done in collaboration with external partners. Activities might include organizing nation-wide events, arranging seminars by researchers, academics, and/or public figures, organizing schools visits, etc. Membership


Book Adoption Committee

The main task of this committee revolves around ensuring that every course has the correct required book. Membership
