Dr. Danyel Reiche is an Associate Professor for Comparative Politics at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon and a Visiting Scholar at the Harvard University Institute for Quantitative Social Science, as well as a Non-Resident Fellow at the Fares Center for Eastern Mediterranean Studies at Tufts University. He has also worked as Visiting Assistant Professor at the School of Foreign Service, Georgetown University, in the U.S., and as Postdoc at the Freie Universität Berlin in Germany. He is author of numerous peer-reviewed articles, most recently in European Sports Management Quarterly, International Journal of Sport Policy and Politics, Journal of Energy Policy, Sport in Society, Soccer & Society, The International Journal of the History of Sport, and Third World Quarterly. Dr. Reiche’s book “Success and Failure of Countries at the Olympic Games” was published with Routledge in 2016.
