Prof. Reiche’s abstract “How the US can promote internationalism at the Olympic Games: Allowing athletes from different countries to be in the same team” has been accepted for presentation in the session “Sport, citizenship, and internal boundaries to belonging” at the 2015 North American Society for the Sociology of Sport conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico (United States), November 4-7, 2015.
Prof. Reiche’s abstract “Elite sport in developing countries: The case of Lebanon’s participation in the Olympics” has been accepted for presentation at the World Congress on Elite Sport Policy in Melbourne, Australia, November 23-23, 2015.
Prof. Reiche is spending the summer term 2015 as a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University (
), supported by a summer research travel grant from the Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Bin Abdulaziz Alsaud Center for American Studies & Research (CASAR) at the American University of Beirut.
Prof. Reiche's article "Investing in sporting success as a domestic and foreign policy tool: the case of Qatar" was published by the International Journal of Sport Policy and Politics in December 2014 (
Prof. Reiche signed a contract with Routledge for his book entitled “Success and Failure of Nations at the Olympics”. It will be published in summer 2016.
