Conference Registration fee: $140

Online registration is now closed. Only cash payments in person at the registration desks are now available. Conference registration fee is $140 and includes:

Access to all conference panels, opening and closing events, receptions, and coffee breaks.
Some pre- and post-conference workshops.
One year AUSACE membership.

The conference registration fee does NOT include the extra charges for workshop 1, or excursions 1, 2, and 3. It also does not include any accomodations or transportation costs. The following is the schedue for registration during the conference:

Other Costs Beyond the Registration Fee:

Pre-Conference Workshop 1 (Optional and not covered by registration):
An optional $50 fee for participating in the "Journalism in Transitioning States" pre-conference workshop is not included in the table above. You will get a chance to register for this workshop while registering for the conference. Only a limited number of seats are available. See details about this workshop here.

Excursion 1 (Optional and not covered by registration): $10
A tour of Downtown Beriut and Gemmayze Street. Saturday Oct 28, 7pnm-11pm. See Activities and Excursions.

Excursion 2 (Optional and not covered by registration): $65
Visit the Lebnese mountains, Silk museum, carpets exhibit, and dinner party. Sunday Oct 29, 2.30pm-10pm. See Activities and Excursions.

Excursion 3 (Optional and not covered by registration): $65
Visit to South Lebanon. Tuesday Nov 1, 7am to 4pm. See Activities and Excursions.

Taxi from airport (not covered by registration):
Approximately $17 each way. Please indicate in the pre-registration form if you would like us to book you a taxi from the airport to your hotel. Taxi drivers accept cash in USD or Lebanese Lira (LL). Several companies offer fixed prices and you can call them from the airport right after you arrive. Here is one company we often use:

Allo Taxi. Phone: (961) 01-517070 or 1213. If you do not have access to a phone go to the Avis or Budget Rent-A-Car kiosks near Gate 4 at arrivals and ask them to call a taxi for you. Charge: 30,000 LL or $20.

Note: Mainly for price, but also for safety, we advise against picking a random taxi from outside the airport. However, if you decide to get a taxi from outside the airport, please make sure to agree about the cost before you get into the taxi. Some taxi drivers will ask for much more than $20, and they expect you to bargain.

Also note: At the current exchange rates, 1 US Dollar = 1,500 Lebanese Lira.

To get the rates below, please book early and book directly with the hotel, not through a travel agent or online service. Please also mention the "AUSACE conference at AUB" and the name Jad Melki to get the offer:

Visas (not covered by registration):

A. Free Visas at entry with a passport valid for the duration of the visit:

Citizens of the following states receive a free one-month visa at entry to Beirut airport or any border post: Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, China (Hong Kong), Costa Rica, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Germany, Great Britain, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Holland, Malaysia, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Peru, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the USA, UK, and Venezuela.
Arab Citizens of the following countries receive a free, one-month visa at entry to any border post or at the Beirut airport. Those include: Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and United Arab Emirates.

B. Visas required before arrival, and Visas that require pre-approval:

Citizens of the countries not mentioned above may either need (1) visas prior to arrival to Lebanon or (2) visas that can be acquired at the airport if certain documents and proofs are available with them, or (3) pre-approval from the Lebanese government before they can receive their visas at the airport. Please see below. In most cases, a 15-day-to-one-month visa to Lebanon will cost $17 (15 days) to $34 (30 days).

Citizens of the following countries need to acquire a visa before arrival by contacting their local Lebanese embassy or consulate: India, Iran, Pakistan, and South Africa. Please see more information in the table below. Passports should be valid for at least 6 months.
Citizens of the following Arab countries can acquire a visa at the airport if they show proof of possessing (1) a non-refundable 2-way ticket and hotel reservation in Lebanon, (2) $2,000 in cash (they will not take it from you; just show it to them as proof, and (3) a letter of invitation from the conference: Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Morocco, Tunis, and Yemen. Please contact us ASAP after registration for the conference so we can help you get a letter of invitation.
Palestinians (and Jordanians of Palestinian descent) need a special prior visa before arrival. Please email us for details so we can help. Please send the following documents immediately: (1) A clearly scanned colored passport that shows the expiration date, (2) A clearly scanned certificate of employment, and (3) A copy of your registration confirmation.

رسوم التسجيل للمؤتمر:

التسجيل قبل 20 اكتوبر 2011 هو عبر الدفع عبر الانترنت عن طريق بطاقة الائتمان أو عبر الايميل باستخدام الشيك او نقدا. لكن بعد 20 اكتوبر نتقبل فقط نقدا.

. تشمل رسوم تسجيل المؤتمر ما يلي:

إمكانية حضور جميع حلقات نقاش المؤتمر, فعاليات افتتاحية المؤتمر واختتامه,حفلات الاستقبال وفترات الاستراحة.
بعض ورش العمل ماقبل المؤتمر وما بعده.
عضوية AUSACE لعام واحد . انظر الجدول:

التكاليف الإضافية:

ورشة عمل ما قبل انعقاد المؤتمر 1 (اختيارية ولا تغطيها رسم التسجيل):

$50 رسم للمشاركة في ورشة عمل "الصحافة في دول قيد التحول" التي ستنعقد قبل المؤتمر. هذا الرسم اختياري وغير مشمول في الجدول. ستحصل على فرصة التسجيل لهذه الورشة خلال تسجيلك للمؤتمر. هناك عدد محدود من المقاعد المتاحة. راجع التفاصيل حول هذه الورشة هنا.

تاكسي من المطار : (لا يغطيها رسم التسجيل )
17 $ تقريباً لكلّ وجهة. يرجى ذكر في استمارة التسجيل المسبق إذا كنت تودّ أن نقوم بحجز تاكسي لك توصلك من المطار إلى الفندق. يقبل سائقو التاكسي النقد بالدولار أو بالعملة المحليّة. إن العديد من الشركات تقدم أسعار ثابتة ويمكنك الاتصال بهم من المطار مباشرة بعد وصولك.وفيما يلي إحدى الشركات التي غالبا ما نتعامل معهم:

· آلو تاكسي. الهاتف: (961)1-517-070أو 1213. إذا لم تتمكن من الوصول إلى هاتف اذهب إلى المحل الخاص بAvis أوب Budget Rent-A-Car قرب بوابة رقم 4 –وصول-واطلب منهم استدعاء سيارة أجرة لك. الكلفة: 25,000 ل.ل. أو 17$.

ملاحظة: ننصح بعدم اختيار أي تاكسي من خارج المطار من أجل السلامة والسعر بالدرجة الأولى. ولكن, إن كنت ترغب في الحصول على تاكسي من خارج المطار, يرجى التأكد من الموافقة على السعر قبل ركوب السيارة. قد يطلب بعض سائقي سيارات الأجرة أكثر بكثير من 17$ ويتوقعون منك التفاوض على السعر.

تأشيرات الدخول:

يجب على أيّ شخص يريد دخول الأراضي اللبنانيّة الحصول على جواز سفر صالح لمدّة 6 أشهر على الأقلّ.

1- التأشيرات واجب الحصول عليها عند الدخول إلى لبنان:

· إنّ مواطني هذه البلاد يحصلون على تأشيرات دخول لمدةّ شهرا واحدا عند دخولهم إلى مطار بيروت الدولي أو إلى أيّ موقع للحدود: النمسا، بلجيكا، الدنمارك، فنلندا، فرنسا ، اليونان ، ألمانيا، ايرلندا ، ايطاليا ، لوكسمبورغ، هولندا، البرتغال، اسبانيا، السويد وبريطانيا وسويسرا والنرويج والولايات المتحدة وكندا واستراليا واسبانيا ، اليابان، كوريا الجنوبية، وقبرص ، ماليزيا، موناكو، نيوزيلندا ، مالطة، وأيسلندا ، والبرازيل وشيلي ، والأرجنتين وفنزويلا ، والمكسيك والصين وكوستاريكا وبنما وبيرو وسنغافورة، وليختنشتاين.

· إنّ مواطني دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي يحصلون على تأشيرات دخول لمدّة شهر ا واحدا عند دخولهم إلى مطار بيروت الدولي أو إلى أيّ موقع للحدود. هذه البلاد هي: السعوديّة, الكويت, الإمارات العربيّة المتّحدة, البحرين, قطر, و عمان.

· إنّ الأتراك غير ملزمين للحصول على تأشيرة دخول.

ان هنالك بلاد لم تزكر لدلك يجب على مواطنيها ال حصول على تاشيرة دخول عند وصولهم الى مطار لبنان. هنالك بلاد كل هند و ايران و جنوب افريقيا.

الفلسطنين يجب عليهم الحصول على تاشيرة خاصة قبل الدخول الى لبنان.

2- يجب على مواطني البلاد غير المذكورة أعلاه الحصول على التأشيرات قبل الدخول إلى الأراضي اللبنانيّة . يرجى التواصل مع أقرب سفارة لبنانيّة في بلدكم للاستفسار.
