To Music Teachers

Dear Music Teacher,

The Zaki Nassif Music Program at the American University of Beirut is writing to wish you an excellent start to the new school year, and to let you know that our program has some wonderful things planned with you, the music teacher, in mind, in particular we are organizing on November 7, 2009, on campus.  The Choir Teacher’s Training Workshop: “What They See is What You Get.”  Making the most of your conducting gesture.  This one-day workshop will focus on the topics below.  I would love to hear from you, regarding which topics are the most interesting, so they can be emphasized.  Simultaneous translation into Arabic will be provided.

• Conducting, and its impact on vocal tone
• How to get the tone quality you want
• Free resources for the choral director
• Sight-reading in the choral context

DEADLINE for REGISTRATION:  Friday, October 30

FEE:  None, Free of Charge

To register, e.mail pm05 with teachers’ names, school name and address, e.mail or fax, and telephone contact.  Early registrants may be notified by fax; later registrants will be notified by  e.mail only.

Schedule (subject to change):

10 am to 12 pm: West Hall Auditorium B, first floor upstairs.

12 – 1.30 pm:  Lunch

1.30 – 4.00: Assembly Hall
