ME in ECE

Requirements for graduate admissions to AUB are as follows:

    1.  Official university transcript(s) – All levels
    2.  Graduate Application (apply online)
    3.  Two recommendation letters
    4.  Graduate Record Examination (GRE) general test scores. Scores up to three years will be accepted
    5.  English Language Proficiency Requirements: Upon admission, the applicant must show a level of proficiency in the English language by obtaining a minimum score of 550 on the English Entrance Examination (EEE), OR 600 on the paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), OR 250 on the computer-based TOEFL OR 97 on the Internet-based TOEFL OR 7.0 on IELTS
AUB graduates or graduates from US/UK/AUSTRALIA/CANADA are exempted from ELPR
    6.  $50 US application fee

Applicants wishing to apply to AUB for graduate studies must apply online:

The ECE Graduate Committee (EGC) may request an interview with students applying to the thesis program.

PhD in ECE

To be eligible for the admission to the PhD program, an applicant must hold a Master degree preceded by a Bachelor degree recognized by the University and relevant to the field of study.
Requirements for PhD admissions to AUB are as follows:

    1. Official university transcripts (All levels)
    2. Three recommendation letters
    3. Graduate Record Examination (GRE) general test scores. Scores up to three years will be accepted
    4. Written Statement of Purpose
    5. Portfolio (if available)
    6. An interview, conducted either in person, by phone, or over the Internet with the ECE Graduate Committee (EGC).
    7. English Language Proficiency Requirement (for non AUB graduates): A score of 550 on the English Entrance Examination (EEE), or 600 on the paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), or 250 on the computer-based TOEFL or 97 on the Internet-based TOEFL, is required for admission of new applicants to graduate study, or prospective graduate study, from recognized institutions of higher education

AUB Graduates or graduates from US/UK/CANADA/AUSTRALIA are exempted from ELPR requirements

    8. $50 US application fee

Applicants wishing to apply to AUB for PhD must apply online:

Please keep in mind that PhD students do not pay tuition, instead, admitted students will sign a contract with the university whereby they will receive a monthly stipend in return for their services in teaching and research

PhD Accelerated Track in ECE

Applicants who have an excellent record of academic achievement, and a potential for creative and independent work at the Bachelor level, may be admitted into a PhD accelerated track at the Bachelor level. An applicant can be considered for admission into a PhD track if s/he meets the following minimum admission requirements.

Requirements for PhD Accelerated Track admissions to AUB are as follows:

    1.  A bachelor degree with a minimum major and cumulative average of 85 over 100 or its equivalent
    2.  Graduate Record Examination (GRE) general test scores. Scores up to three years will be accepted
    3.  Three recommendation letters (one from the FYP supervisor)
    4.  An applicant’s written statement of purpose that shows the research potentials in the proposed area of study
    5.  Two-three pages research proposal
    6.  Performance of the candidate in the EECE 499 research-based course if taken
    7.  An interview, conducted either in person, by phone, or over the Internet with the ECE Graduate Committee (EGC)
