The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (FEA) at the American University of Beirut is a leading school in the Middle East offering undergraduate and graduate programs of the highest standards, contributing to the advancement of the engineering and architecture knowledge through teaching and research, and providing services to the community at large, while addressing the needs of Lebanon and the region. AUB grabs third place in CIU Habitat Competition
MUPP/MUD students Israa Darwish and Diala Makki, LDEM student Nour Farhat, and fifth year architecture student Louai Kaakani have won the third prize in the CIU Habitat Competition, Challenges of Marginal Habitat in the Contemporary Southern Globe: Resilient Communities.

AUB and business community think eco-friendly construction 
AUB just wrapped up its second International ASHRAE (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers) Conference hosted by the Munib and Angela Masri Institute of Energy and Natural Resources. The conference, in keeping with AUB’s shift toward sustainable infrastructure, centered on eco-friendly construction.

Twenty-nine AUB students competed in a hackathon titled ‘Reboot Beirut’ with the task of designing and executing solutions to challenges faced in Beirut city life in less than 36 hours. The three winning teams proposed solutions to issues in healthcare, traffic management, and food home-sourcing.
