Welcome to the Instrumentation Laboratory website at the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the American University of Beirut. The Instrumentation Lab is located in the Raymond Ghosn Building, in the second floor, Room 207.
In this laboratory students learn the fundamentals and practical implementation of Instrumentation through interfacing different sensors to data acquisition systems and PLCs. Several sensors both wired and wireless have been acquired for the laboratory. These sensors include mechanical, optical, chemical, environmental and others. The lab contains NI data acquisition systems equipped with the ELVIS educational kit and sensors from different manufacturers including Omega, Vernier, Parallax etc. The Lab is also equipped with OMRON PLC and industrial sensors like encoders and photocells. This lab is also used for research in advanced control and instrumentation. The related course to this lab is: EECE460 – Instrumentation.
