IEEEXtreme is a new IEEE student branch global challenge in which teams of students compete in a 24-hour programming problem solving session.
The competition was created to give IEEE student members a challenging opportunity to use their computer, programming, and technology knowledge to solve problems in an intensely competitive teamwork environment. An ability to work as a member of a team is increasingly recognized as an important skill to develop for future career success. Problems are developed and judged by a panel composed of IEEE members with academic and/or industry backgrounds. The problems are categorized as easy, medium, and hard; which allows for participants from all experience levels. Java, C, and C++ support the solutions of all the problems. The teams may choose to use different languages to solve different problems.
