Research Assistant / Assistant Grant Administrator
A full-time research assistant is needed for the Faculty of Health Sciences at AUB. The Research Assistant is expected to assist in the administration of grants and contracts at the Faculty.
Job Description 1. Assists in the financial administration of FHS grants including monitoring/reporting grants expenditures and monitoring the grants database at FHS. 2. Assists in processing grant requests and expenditures online. 3. Assists in the employment procedures of consultants and other temporary staff, including preparation of contracts and follow up on payments. 4. Assists in the liaison of activities related to the grants with the University administrative departments (Comptroller’s Office, Human Resources, Purchasing Department), Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC) and Regional External Programs (REP). 5. Keeps and updates files of grants and contracts. 6. Assists in the reporting for funding agencies and in ensuring that the requirements of the grants and contracts are met. 7. Assists in organization of special events such as workshops, seminars and training workshops. 8. Performs other relevant tasks or duties as needed.
Job Qualifications 1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, with emphasis on either finance or accounting or related fields 2. One to two years experience in administration and/or management of funds or grants 3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 4. Good familiarity with software applications such as word processing, spreadsheet, and database software packages
