Professor Huda Zurayk Honored by the Lebanese Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Professor Huda Zurayk, Director of the CRPH and former Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), AUB was honored on November 17th by the Lebanese Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology (LSOG) at the opening ceremony of its annual international conference held under the patronage of Prime Minister Najib Mikati.  Professor Zurayk received the LSOG honorary shield for her contributions to women’s health in research and advocacy. 

Dr. Faysal El-Kak, President of the LSOG and FHS faculty member, speaking on behalf of FHS Dean Iman Nuwayhid, cited Zurayk’s achievements in advancing the understanding of women’s reproductive health through her research work particularly in the Giza Study, Egypt. Her leadership both at the Population Council in Egypt and at FHS has been visionary and as such, has brought new, comprehensive approaches to women’s health and well-being to the fore.
