PUBLIC NOTICE

THE GRADUATE PUBLIC HEALTH PROGRAM AT THE FACULTY OF HEALTH SCIENCES, AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF BEIRUT

ACCREDITATION SITE VISIT

May 6-7, 2019—INVITING THIRD PARTY COMMENTS

The Faculty of Health Sciences at the American University of Beirut is pleased to invite the AUB community, including students, faculty, staff and its key stakeholders in Lebanon, the region and internationally to provide written feedback on the Graduate Public Health Program directly and in confidence to the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH).

CEPH is an independent non-profit agency recognized by the US Department of Education to accredit schools of public health and graduate Public health programs.

The GPHP was initially accredited in 2006 and                  re-accredited in 2012 for a period of 7 years until July 2019 (the maximum period allowable for accreditation). The GPHP is the first public health program outside of the Americas to be accredited by CEPH and is currently the only CEPH-accredited program in the Arab world and one of 9 international programs to be so accredited.

Accreditation is a means to certify the standard and excellence of our programs, and is also an ongoing process of self-reflection, in which we can all share. Accordingly, we encourage you all to read the self-study report in whole or in parts.

Please CLICK HERE to read the preliminary draft report, we look forward to submitting a Final Report on April 8, 2018. An official on-campus site visit is taking place on May 6 and 7 by a team of external reviewers selected by the Council. The written third-party comments will be accepted by CEPH until 30 days before the on-site visit.
