    We are interested in candidates who use multidisciplinary approaches to understand the function or plasticity of the nervous system. Of particular interest are candidates who complement existing strengths in the department, including sensory, systems, and molecular and developmental neuroscience. The successful candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an active, research program and to teach Neurosciences to medical, paramedical and graduate students, and to participate in the training of graduate students.


    The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. and a minimum of 3 years post-doctoral training (or equivalent) in an area of neuroscience and a demonstrated record of professional achievement. Preference will be given to candidates with research experience in the neurophysiology of sensory systems and with one or more years experience in instruction or formalized education process, preferably teaching neuroscience (lectures and laboratories) in a graduate or medical school setting and some experience and/or ability to teach other related courses such as: physiology, cellular and molecular biology, etc.

    The Department of Psychiatry at the Faculty of Medicine of the American University of Beirut (AUB) is seeking a Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychologist. Eligible applicants should hold a PhD or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or Counseling from an accredited program in the USA, EU, UK, or Australia. Licensure and certification to practice psychology in the USA, UK or EU countries are preferred. 


    The clinical training of applicants should reflect expertise in diagnostics and provision of psychotherapy with children and adolescents psychologist. Training and experience with such a population are required. 


    The ideal candidate must have an established record in clinical work, teaching and research.
    Proficiency in English is required, while Arabic and / or French are an asset.
    His/her responsibilities will include inpatient and outpatient care, supervision of psychology interns and psychiatry residents, as well as teaching of medical students. Research endeavors are highly encouraged.
    Many opportunities for collaboration exist within the framework of the Abu-Haydar Neuroscience Institute at AUBMC or within AUB at large.

    The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Faculty of Medicine, American University of Beirut (AUBFM), is seeking faculty members at the assistant professor level. The applicant must hold a Ph.D., M.D. or their equivalent, and must have had at least 2 years of post-doctoral research training preferably in the fields of pharmacology or toxicology, or in a closely related field, with evidence of research productivity as a primary investigator. There is particular interest in developing the areas of neuropharmacology and clinical pharmacology/pharmacokinetics, although all specialties will be considered.  The faculty member is expected to establish independent and focused research, participate in teaching pharmacology, toxicology and/or therapeutics to medical, nursing and graduate students, mentor the research work of graduate students and post-doctoral fellows, develop new courses and programs of study, and provide service to the university.
