Workshops and Conferences January 15-16, 2012
Policy Research Institutes and the Arab Uprisings Agenda Setting and BeyondThis workshop inaugruated a series of workshops for the Consortium of Arab Policy Research Institutes (CAPRI) project. Directors of policy research institutes (PRIs) in the Arab world and academics discussed current strategic and practical concerns of PRIs in the Arab world. Many challenges facing PRIs in the region today range from the struggles of popular uprisings, to autocratic constraints on independent research, and financial, human and technical constraints. The workshop evaluated the evolving role of PRIs with specific linkages to Arab transformations. November 12, 2008
State Building and State Stability in the Arab World, a workshop with politicians, civil society actors, and academics discussed the challenges and opportunities facing political development from an interdisciplinary perspective.
