LimeSurvey is an online survey management tool. It allows AUB faculty, staff and students to quickly create online surveys that can work for tens to thousands of participants with very little effort. Creating surveys through
LimeSurvey is both easy and fun! When you create a survey using
LimeSurvey, you can send it to anyone with an email address, or you can export a printable version of the survey and ask the participants to fill it by hand.
LimeSurvey is hosted at the IT Academic Core Processes and Systems (ACPS).
If you are creating a survey to conduct research, please remember to submit the survey for
IRB review and approval or for
exemption from IRB review and oversight before you collect any survey data, including any pilot data. You can find the forms you need on the
IRB forms page. According to AUB regulations all surveys involving human participants need IRB approval before proceeding. For more details check the

 Creating an Account

Only users with an active AUBnet account can request a LimeSurvey account. However, the surveys can be filled by anyone in the world--with or without an AUBnet account. Once the LimeSurvey account is created:
- It will stay active, as long as the user has a valid AUBnet account
- Users can create as many surveys as needed
- The survey structure and results are private to the account owner and thus not visible to other users

| LimeSurvey for Faculty

To request a faculty account in LimeSurvey you will need to fill out this form. Once ACPS gets your account creation request, we will create your account, and send you a confirmation email. REMEMBER: If you are creating a survey to conduct research, you need to submit the survey for IRB review and approval or for exemption from IRB review and oversight before you collect any survey data, including any pilot data. | LimeSurvey for Staff

AUB Staff members can request an account in LimeSurvey in order to create surveys that are either for educational or university-related topics. To create a staff account, the department director should fill out this form. He/She should specify the full name and email of the staff member who will administer the department's account on LimeSurvey. Once ACPS gets the account creation request, we will create the account, and send a a confirmation email. REMEMBER: If you are creating a survey in LimeSurvey to conduct research, you need to submit the survey for IRB review and approval or for exemption from IRB review and oversight before you collect any survey data, including any pilot data. | LimeSurvey for Students

Students can request an account in LimeSurvey, but first you will need to get the permission of your instructor. Surveys should be either for educational or university-related topics. To create a student account, the instructor should fill out this form. He/She should specify your full name, email and provide information about the survey (topic, participants and duration). Once ACPS gets the account creation request, we will create your account, and send you a confirmation email. Once the survey is done, your account will be locked until there is another request from an instructor. REMEMBER: If you are creating a survey in LimeSurvey to conduct research, you need to submit the survey for IRB review and approval or for exemption from IRB review and oversight before you collect any survey data, including any pilot data.
