Dedication of the Al-Fouzan and Galadari Dermatology Hall
Dr. Al-Fouzan modestly described their gift as “a humble help offered to the Lebanese scientific institutions that contribute in the progress of the society.”

The revamped Al-Fouzan and Galadari Dermatology Hall at AUB Medical Center (AUBMC) will offer faculty, residents, and medical students a pleasant and technologically-equipped space in which they can interact and exchange knowledge.

“This donation has allowed us to fully renovate and upgrade this conference hall with the most recent and sophisticated audiovisual equipment as well as to make it a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing environment for learning,” said President Peter Dorman, during the September 19, 2011 dedication of the hall.

Thanking Drs. Ibrahim Galadari and Abdul-Wahab Al-Fouzan for their “magnanimous support” despite not having any direct affiliation with AUB, Dorman highlighted both men’s long and illustrious careers: Dr. Al-Fouzan had been one of the founders of the Arab Board of Dermatology and was a former Minister of Health in Kuwait. Dr. Galadari is one of the premier dermatologists in Dubai and has been a professor at the UAE University in Al-Ain for many years. Both doctors attended the dedication ceremony.

“As you all know, a main pillar of our AUBMC 2020 vision is our commitment to the educational mission of the Faculty of Medicine and AUBMC,” said Dr. Atweh on behalf of Dean Sayegh.

Dr. Samir Atweh, who spoke on behalf of Medical VP/Dean Mohamed Sayegh, praised Drs. Galadari and Al-Fouzan for their donation.
“As you all know, a main pillar of our AUBMC 2020 vision is our commitment to the educational mission of the Faculty of Medicine and AUBMC,” said Dr. Atweh on behalf of Dean Sayegh. “This generous donation will provide our students, residents and faculty with an environment that is ideal for learning and for interacting with others.”

Dr. Abdul-Ghani Kibbi, chair of the Dermatology Department and the common link between the doctors and AUB, lauded the two distinguished physicians as “true pioneers” and “educators par excellence” and expressed his deep gratitude for their profound friendship and strong support for AUBMC.
“Drs. Abdul-Wahab Al-Fouzan and Ibrahim Galadari possess unique characteristics…not usually found all in one person. They are educators …but one of the best things about them is their motivation for actions,” said Kibbi, adding that “the most important trait is their accomplishment in helping the world around.”

In his remarks, Dr. Al-Fouzan modestly described their gift as “a humble help offered to the Lebanese scientific institutions that contribute in the progress of the society.”
