The Deutsche Bank Middle East Foundation announced the launch of its first ever postgraduate scholarship in the Middle East.
The scholarship will be offered on an annual basis at the American University of Beirut (AUB) Suliman S. Olayan School of Business (OSB), beginning as early as September 2011 and covering the full two-year MBA tuition.
The scholarship is open to all interested postgraduate students from across the Middle East and North Africa region, who satisfy AUB’s MBA admission criteria, and who are both financially in need and academically outstanding.
Dr. Henry Azzam, Chairman of the Deutsche Bank Middle East Foundation, said: "We are extremely pleased to be able to offer distinguished postgraduate students, who are in need of financial aid, this outstanding opportunity at one of the region’s foremost academic institutions. We look forward to rolling out similar scholarships in partnership with AUB and other universities in the region in the near future."
George K.Najjar, Dean of OSB, said: "The Olayan School of Business at AUB is proud to have been selected by Deutsche Bank for its first-ever MBA scholarship in the region, and we are certain that this much appreciated generosity will offer the opportunity for a young deserving person to get a professional head-start by acquiring a highly coveted degree."
Najjar added: "The OSB lauds DB’s special gesture and considers it a fine example of corporate social responsibility reflecting the spirit of partnership between academia and business in pursuit of shared goals."
Potential applicants should apply directly to the Office of Admissions at AUB. Upon completion of the MBA, the scholarship recipients will be considered for an internship at Deutsche Bank.
