The Ras Beirut Well-Being Survey

The Ras Beirut Well-being Survey investigates how daily social and economic issues affect people’s health in our part of the city.  Beginning in November 2009, a randomly selected sample of households was interviewed in Ras Beirut, Manara, Hamra, Kantari, Junblatt and Ain Mreisse.

For an article on the discussion of preliminary results of the survey, click here (AUB website, June 2011).

Posters describing the results were displayed in three public spaces in the neighborhood during October 2011. People passing by were able to stop and look at the posters, and researchers were present to answer questions. The posters (in arabic) are listed at the bottom of the page, click on each to view them.

We expect to publish a monograph in Fall 2012 describing the socio-economic, demographic and health profile of Ras Beirut.
