Students at AUB have the option of studying at any accredited university in the world, assuming that they can do coursework in the language of instruction and that they can find courses which AUB faculty will approve as counting towards their degree requirements or electives.  For this reason, it is important to choose a university or program of high academic quality.  Below are some popular programs which AUB students have received approval for in past semesters, as well as some sources of reputable programs likely to find favor with AUB faculty.

 NOTES re Credit Transfer:

  1. The AUB Salzburg Summer Academy is now approved for AUB elective credit (1Humanities course + 1 Social Sciences course) for any AUB student; also it does not require completion of an OIP Study Abroad application.  For more information see link below.
  2. Some AUB faculties have policies which prohibit or limit the taking of core courses while abroad, although they usually permit major electives or general electives.  Once you have picked a program or university, you should be be sure to consult with the appropriate department chair and Dean's office as to whether the program meets course equivalency standards in your Faculty.  You will need to have course descriptions and possibly syllabi for specific courses, in order to do so.

A. Fall, Spring or Academic Year

B.  Spring in North America:

Note: Approximately 99% of US universities have spring semesters that begin in early or mid-January.  AUB will not approve a student to study abroad if it conflicts with classes or exams at AUB.  So far, OIP has found two reputable, well-ranked US study abroad programs which accept overseas students for a spring semester that is compatible with the AUB calendar.
