At American University of Beirut, we know that study abroad is both educationally and personally transformative. Further, it is an important way to acquire the confident global competence skills which are sought after by employers in today’s globally interconnected workplace. In the three years prior to the creation of the OIP, AUB doubled its study abroad participation, sending students for a summer, semester or year to more than 30 universities scattered across Asia, Europe and North America. The Office of International Programs (OIP) was created specifically to offer a variety of high-quality study abroad opportunities to its students in all faculties.
